Psychotherapy

AKA, “talk therapy.” Different approaches work for different people, and I am always working to expand my skill set with new trainings, readings, etc. My go-to methods for talk therapy center around mindfulness and the mind-body connection, building insight around values and self awareness in relationships, and exploring different ways to access and nourish a healthy nervous system. In clinical terms that usually involves Acceptance and Committment therapy, Parts work, Existentialism, Polyvagal theory, and elements of DBT.

EMDR

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is an evidence based approach to healing symptoms of PTSD and other conditions resulting from disturbing life experiences. EMDR can also be very helpful in building nervous system resilience and connections to inner resources, so that you can learn to trust your mind and trust your own ability to regulate yourself.

Somatic Healing

Somatic healing practices are centered around the belief that we are constantly working to return to our wholeness. Through somatic practices, we can begin to increase awareness of how the body holds experiences, beliefs, and unconscious patterns and how those holdings impact our relationships, behaviors and self-concept. Sessions may include elements of yoga but extend to other movement-based interventions, as well as breathwork, sensory awareness exercises, relaxation techniques, Ayurvedic wisdom, and more.
